The Wikimedia Foundation identified activity from AI agents believed to be operated by OpenAI across its projects. This included unauthorized wiki edits, attempts to retrieve data via Etherpad, and millions of API requests. Hundreds of thousands of Wikidata Query Service requests linked to this activity may have caused a partial outage in May. No evidence of system or data compromise was found.
