HealthNPPA Approves Price Cap to Cut Cancer Drug Costs by 20-70% in India
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) in India has approved a proposal to cap trade margins on certain non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs at 30% of the maximum retail price (MRP). This move is expected to reduce cancer drug prices by 20 to 70 percent, potentially saving patients around Rs 2,500 crore annually. The final list of drugs covered is yet to be finalized.
