Nebraska Farmer Earns Up to $12,500 Annually Leasing Land for Wind Turbine
A Nebraska farmer leases one acre of a 160-acre parcel for a wind turbine, while continuing to farm the remaining land. Bluestem Energy Solutions reports that a typical 30-year lease pays $10,000 to $12,500 annually, significantly higher than the $600 income from growing corn on the same acre, according to a 2021 NRECA case study.
