ScienceMangalore University Survey Finds 71 Butterfly Species on Campus
Mangalore University's Department of Applied Zoology conducted its first campus-wide butterfly survey during Big Butterfly Month 2026, documenting 71 species in five days. Led by Dr. Deepak Naik, over 25 participants including students, alumni, and IT professionals took part. The survey recorded common species like Common Crows and Lineblues, rare species like Redspot Duke, and Western Ghats endemics protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
