Vijayapura police in Karnataka have filed FIRs against expelled BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and BJP corporator Girish Patil for submitting forged documents to delete living Muslim voters from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision. Abdulrazak Moulasab, a registered voter, complained that a fake death certificate and a letter on the MLA's letterhead were used to remove his name. FIRs were registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
