Delhi faces a summer water deficit of about 250 million gallons per day. To bridge this gap, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) plans to use advanced treatment technologies to purify contaminated groundwater from areas like Najafgarh drain and Garhi Mandu. The groundwater contains high levels of TDS, heavy metals, and other contaminants, making it unsafe for direct consumption. DJB has invited technology providers to install systems to remove these pollutants.
