Data Centre Load Shifting Could Cut Peak Power Demand by 0.6% by 2030
A new Ember report finds that only about 3% of global data centre capacity will be able to shift electricity use by 2030, limiting peak power demand reduction to 0.1-0.6% in most major markets. Ireland and Malaysia may see around 1.5% reduction. Most data centres support continuous AI and cloud services, restricting load shifting potential despite rising power demand.
