ScienceClimate Change May Expand Ibisbill Habitat in Himalayas
The ibisbill (Ibidorhyncha struthersii), a rare bird found in the boulder-strewn mountain rivers of the Himalayas, may see its suitable habitat range increase due to climate change. Researchers conducted the first detailed climate-based study in the North-Western Himalayas, identifying current and future suitable climatic conditions. Despite being listed as least concern by IUCN, the ibisbill remains elusive with limited ecological data and no conclusive population estimates in India.
