HealthPhoto: News18Cancer Drug Prices Drop Up to 93% in India, Costliest Remain Unchanged
India's National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has capped trade margins on 137 cancer medicines, causing prices of some drugs to fall drastically. For example, palbociclib capsules dropped from Rs 40,421 to Rs 2,720, and thiotepa injections from Rs 80,072 to Rs 7,150. However, prices of newer, expensive medicines like osimertinib remain unchanged after November 9. The NPPA's move aims to make cancer treatment more affordable.
