WorldPhoto: HT World54% of US Stocks Down 20% Despite S&P 500 Near Record High
More than half of US stocks have fallen at least 20% from their June 2026 highs, according to Morgan Stanley data. While the S&P 500 nears a record high, 54% of companies in the Russell 3000 index have suffered sharp losses. Nearly 90% of these companies dropped over 10%, with 29% losing more than 30%, and 7% falling over 50%. The S&P 500's rise is driven by a few large companies.
