Business28-Day-Old Baby Can Invest in Stock Market via Minor Account
Nitin Kamath, founder of Zerodha, revealed their youngest customer is just 28 days old. The baby's parents opened a minor account in the child's name to start investing. This account, operated by parents or legal guardians, allows holding shares, mutual funds, and IPO shares but prohibits intraday and F&O trading. Required documents include PAN, KYC, and bank details of both child and guardian. At 18, the account converts to a regular demat account.
