UN Reports Over 5,700 Killed or Wounded in Haiti Gang Crisis in 2026
The UN reported that at least 5,700 people have been killed or wounded in Haiti's gang violence crisis this year, with over 1,000 women and girls raped and 230 kidnappings recorded up to September 11, 2026. UN human rights chief Volker Turk warned gangs are expanding despite international security forces deployed to restore order in Port-au-Prince and other areas.
