PoliticsCBI Arrests 5 in Mumbai Bribery Case Including CPWD Engineer
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested five people in Mumbai for a bribery case involving Rs 50 lakh. Among those arrested are CPWD Executive Engineer Vikrant Verma and his relative Saurav Gupta. Others include Arvind Semwal, Chetan Mahajan, and Anil Deshmukh. The arrests relate to issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for land in Wadala. Verma demanded Rs 1 crore, later settled at Rs 70 lakh. On October 1, CBI caught Gupta accepting Rs 50 lakh bribe, and Verma was arrested in Vashi. Cash and property documents worth Rs 53.87 lakh were seized.
