BusinessUCIL to Double Uranium Output by 2036 Using Greenfield Mines and Copper Residue
The Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) plans to double its uranium production by 2036 through four new greenfield mining and processing projects. Starting 2029-30, UCIL will also recover uranium from copper mine residue, in partnership with Hindustan Copper Limited, aiming to reduce costs and promote a circular economy. These plans were revealed by UCIL CMD Dr. Kancham Anand Rao during a media workshop in Jaduguda, Jharkhand.
