PoliticsEC and Opposition Clash Over Meeting Demand on CEC Removal
The Election Commission and Opposition parties clashed over a meeting demand related to the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Opposition accused him of aiding the BJP in election manipulation and sought a meeting with the CEC and two Election Commissioners at Parliament House Annexe. The EC refused, offering instead to send a senior officer to receive their memorandum. The dispute escalated after Opposition MPs, led by Rahul Gandhi, marched to the EC headquarters and staged a sit-in.
