The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Consumer Federation (TNCCF) canceled an order for 400 tonnes of onions on October 31, 2026, due to poor quality. The onions, stored at Korukkupet railway goods shed, were actually owned by NAFED. About 25% were rotten or sprouted, and 50% failed size standards.
