Three Waste Processing Units Planned in Belagavi Rural Constituency

MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar announced plans to establish three municipal solid waste processing units in Belagavi Rural assembly constituency at Kakati, Belagundi, and Basavan-Kuduchi. These units aim to manage the increased waste burden due to rapid urban expansion. About 25% of segregated waste will be sent to the Turmuri waste depot. Dry waste at Belagundi will be used for power generation. Efforts are underway to prevent illegal layouts and improve infrastructure.
