Tamil Nadu Raises DA for Government Employees to 63% from July 2026

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced an increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and teachers from 60% to 63%, effective July 2026. This hike follows a similar increase by the Central government. About 16 lakh employees, teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners will benefit, costing the state ₹1,858 crore annually. The government said this will help them celebrate Deepavali happily.
