Supreme Court Warns Delhi Traders Against Indefinite Protests
The Supreme Court of India addressed Delhi traders, stating that demonstrations create a 'protest economy' and cannot occupy protest sites indefinitely. The court emphasized that no single group has the right to monopolize protest locations like Jantar Mantar or Ramlila Maidan, especially during the festive period, as protests should not choke livelihoods. Delhi Police also clarified that Jantar Mantar is a road, not a protest site.
