Supreme Court to Review Acquittal of 22 in Sohrabuddin Sheikh Encounter Case

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to review the acquittal of 22 accused in the high-profile Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case. The case involves the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his wife Kauser Bi, and the 2006 death of associate Tulsi Ram Prajapati, alleged to be fake encounters. The Bombay High Court upheld the acquittals in May 2026, but the Supreme Court will reconsider the decision.
