ScienceStudy to Enhance Cross-Border Power Integration in South Asia
The South Asia Forum for Infrastructure Regulation (SAFIR) will conduct a comprehensive study on cross-border electricity transmission among India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The study aims to assess existing links, identify gaps, and propose a roadmap to strengthen regional energy cooperation, improve energy security, and facilitate regional power trade. The project focuses on technical, economic, and regulatory aspects, including potential new transmission corridors and market models, to support sustainable regional development.
