Sensex Rises 473 Points, Nifty Above 22,550 Led by FMCG Stocks

On October 5, Indian benchmark indices closed higher with the Sensex gaining 472.77 points to 72,382.47 and the Nifty rising 133.80 points to 22,555.75. ITC led gains among Sensex stocks, rising 4.49%. Other major gainers included Eternal, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Adani Ports, and ICICI Bank. HCLTech was the biggest loser, falling 3.69%. FMCG and consumer durables sectors showed strong gains.
