The Supreme Court has stayed the execution of Ahmed Bawa, an Indian Mujahideen operative sentenced to death for the 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts that killed 56 people. The court issued notice to the Gujarat government on Bawa's plea challenging the High Court's decision, which upheld his death sentence. The High Court had confirmed death sentences for 38 operatives and life sentences for 11 others involved in the attacks and terror activities.
