Sanjay Raut Alleges FDA Extortion, Demands Probe

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut accused Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials of extorting money from hotels, restaurants, and quick-commerce businesses by threatening license suspension. He claimed bribe amounts for closing notices have risen from ₹12,000 to ₹75,000 or even ₹2 lakh since FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe's appointment. Raut cited complaints from Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Wardha, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and alleged misuse of power by FDA officers.
