RLM Suspends Ram Pukar Sinha, Rebel-Backed MLC Candidate

Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), led by Upendra Kushwaha, suspended Ram Pukar Sinha, the MLC candidate for Saran Teachers Constituency, supported by three rebel party MLAs. Sinha, also RLM state general secretary and spokesperson, was expelled for six years after filing as an independent candidate against JD(U)'s Anand Pushkar. Three of four RLM MLAs backed Sinha instead of the official JD(U) candidate.

Kerala HC orders release of Rs 21,000 surgery aid to transgender person

The Kerala High Court directed the state's Directorate of Social Justice to release Rs 21,000 in pending financial aid to Srihaan V Chandran, a transgender person who underwent sex reassignment surgery. The court ordered the payment within two months after Chandran challenged the non-disbursement of the full Rs 36,000 assistance. The petitioner had received only Rs 15,000 so far.
