Protesters Burn NHPC Office, Vandalize MLAs' Houses in Pasighat

Hundreds of protesters opposing the 11,200 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project set fire to the NHPC office, several government offices, a police station, and damaged police vehicles in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. The houses of BJP state president Kaling Moyong and MLAs Oni Panyang and Ninong Ering were also vandalized. A 12-hour bandh was held before the violence erupted.
