Prof Sebastian Peter Appointed Director of CeNS Bengaluru

I-T Department Extends Deadline to Regularise Foreign Assets

The Income Tax Department has extended the deadline for taxpayers to regularise foreign assets and income under the Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers – Disclosure Scheme, 2026 (FAST-DS) until December 31, 2026. Taxpayers can pay 30% tax and an equal penalty on the fair market value to gain immunity from further assessment, penalties, and prosecution under the Black Money Act. The scheme is fully online and self-declaratory.
