The Supreme Court on Monday directed all states and union territories to allocate funds for bar rooms, washrooms, and basic facilities for women lawyers in district and taluka courts. The bench, led by CJI Surya Kant, expressed strong displeasure over the lack of such facilities and emphasized that all practicing women lawyers must have access to separate bar rooms. The next hearing is scheduled for December 2. Additionally, 14 states agreed to raise the retirement age to 62.

Paytm Q2 FY27 Profit Jumps 10-Fold to ₹225 Crore, Revenue Up 28%

One 97 Communications Ltd, Paytm's parent company, reported a 10-fold rise in net profit to ₹225 crore in Q2 FY27, up from ₹21 crore a year ago, marking its sixth consecutive profitable quarter. Operating revenue increased 28% to ₹2,648 crore, driven by merchant and consumer business growth and AI adoption. EBITDA rose 90% to ₹270 crore, with margin reaching 10%.
