WorldOverseas Schools Teaching Korean Increase 54% in Four Years
The number of overseas schools teaching Korean rose 54% over four years to 2,777 by the end of last year, with student enrollment increasing 38% to 236,089. Growth is driven by Korean culture's popularity, demand to study in South Korea, and government support. Schools in 47 countries now offer Korean classes, with significant increases in Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Oxford University will open a Korean studies center in October.
