NMDC's October Iron Ore Production Rises 18%, Sales Fall Due to Rain

State-owned NMDC reported an 18% year-on-year increase in iron ore production to 5.04 million tonnes in October, while sales dropped over 11% to 3.44 million tonnes. Production for the seven months ended October reached 32.32 million tonnes. Sales were affected by disruptions on the Kottavalasa–Kirandul railway line caused by heavy monsoon rains, impacting evacuation from Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh. Rail connectivity has been restored, and NMDC expects sales to improve soon.
