New Yorkers Queue Hours for Subway Memorabilia at MTA Sale
Thousands of New Yorkers waited for hours at an annual MTA sale in south Brooklyn to buy discarded subway items like station signs, seats, and MetroCards. Station signs ranged from $500 to over $1,000, and orange subway seats sold for about $900. Filmmaker Spike Lee bought a Penn Station sign. The two-day event draws around 4,000 visitors each year.
