New E-Gate Terminal Opens at India-Bhutan Border for Biometric Clearance

Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) inaugurated a new Immigration Terminal featuring automated e-gates for biometric verification. This allows eligible Bhutanese and Indian nationals to clear immigration efficiently at the Gelephu land border. Governor Dasho Dr Lotay Tshering highlighted the terminal's role in enhancing security, maintaining cross-border movement records, and supporting increasing travel between Gelephu and India. A nominal service fee will be introduced for the facility.
