ScienceAI imageNASA Discovers New 222-Meter Impact Crater on the Moon
NASA's Moon orbiter has identified a new impact crater on the Moon, measuring 222 meters in diameter. This fresh crater, named McGetchin, was formed by an asteroid roughly the size of a six-story building. Its ejecta remains bright and visible, indicating it was created recently, between 11 April 2019 and 26 February 2021. Such impacts are rare, occurring about once a century.
