Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) has asked airlines to submit plans by November 3 to move one-third of their international flights to Navi Mumbai airport starting summer 2027. This shift aims to temporarily relocate traffic equivalent to five million passengers annually from Mumbai airport. Airlines, especially foreign carriers, opposed unilateral slot reductions and requested early discussions for the winter 2027 schedule. Both airports are controlled by the Adani Group.
