PoliticsMaharashtra to Prioritize Drinking Water Reserve Until August 2027: CM Fadnavis
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that due to worsening drought, the state will prioritize reserving water for drinking purposes until August 2027. After that, decisions on water use for agriculture and industries will depend on monsoon conditions. The government has also ordered a minimum 10% water cut from October 16. A central team will visit in early October to assess the situation, with surveys completed in about 23,000 villages so far.
