Cabinet Approves Integrated Transport Authority for Unified Planning
The Union Cabinet approved the creation of the Integrated Transport & Logistics Authority (ITLA) as the apex body to oversee transport and logistics projects across roads, railways, ports, shipping, civil aviation, inland waterways, coastal shipping, urban mobility, and logistics. ITLA will prepare a National Transport Master Plan with a 10-year horizon and appraise infrastructure projects costing ₹500 crore or more, ensuring multi-modal capacity expansion.
