Seenivasa Sethupathy from Tirupattur constituency, Sivaganga district, who won by a single vote in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. The petition was filed by DMK candidate K.R. Periakaruppan, who argued confusion due to two constituencies named Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu. Sethupathy secured 83,375 votes against Periakaruppan's 83,374.
