BusinessSwitzerland Keeps Interest Rates at 0% Amid Low Inflation
Switzerland's central bank, the Swiss National Bank (SNB), has maintained its key interest rate at 0% since June 2025, despite rising inflation pressures globally. Swiss inflation remains low at 0.8% as of August, within the SNB's 0-2% target. The strong Swiss franc, a global safe-haven currency, helps keep imported goods cheaper, allowing the SNB to keep borrowing costs low through 2028 with expected inflation around 0.7-0.8%.
