Kerala Cabinet Approves Salary Hike Bill for Ministers and MLAs

The Kerala Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan, has approved a bill to increase the salaries and allowances of ministers and MLAs. The bill is expected to be presented in the state assembly on Thursday. The cabinet also approved decisions on housing assistance, government jobs for a murder victim's daughter and an Asian Games medalist, and police recruitment for women. The last salary revision was in 2018.

Former MLC Challenges Telangana Government's Prohibitory Land List in High Court

Former MLC Elvis Stephenson of BRS filed a writ petition in Telangana High Court challenging Government Order No. 341 issued on September 23, which placed lands of 16 BRS leaders, including K. Chandrasekhara Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, on a prohibitory list. The petitioner alleges the order targets BRS leaders selectively. The case will be heard by a single judge as directed by the Acting Chief Justice and Justice Suddala Chalapathi Rao.
