Kerala Cabinet Approves Bill to Raise Ministers' and MLAs' Salaries

The Kerala Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister V D Satheesan, approved a Bill to increase the salaries and allowances of ministers and MLAs. The Bill, last revised in 2018, is expected to be introduced in the Assembly on Thursday. The Cabinet also decided to provide a government job to Athulya, daughter of a murder victim, and financial aid for her sister's education. Additionally, a special housing scheme for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and fisherfolk was approved.

Former MLC Challenges Telangana Government's Prohibitory Land List in High Court

Former MLC Elvis Stephenson of BRS filed a writ petition in Telangana High Court challenging Government Order No. 341 issued on September 23, which placed lands of 16 BRS leaders, including K. Chandrasekhara Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, on a prohibitory list. The petitioner alleges the order targets BRS leaders selectively. The case will be heard by a single judge as directed by the Acting Chief Justice and Justice Suddala Chalapathi Rao.
