Karnataka HC Strikes Down Enhanced SC/ST Quota Exceeding 50%

The Karnataka High Court invalidated parts of a 2022 law that raised SC reservation from 15% to 17% and ST reservation from 3% to 7%, ruling the total reservation exceeded the 50% constitutional limit. The division bench found Sections 3 and 4 of the Act violated Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Constitution, striking them down for breaching reservation caps in education and government jobs.

Kerala HC orders release of Rs 21,000 surgery aid to transgender person
