ScienceJapan Launches World's First Fully Automated Robot-Run Medicine Lab
Japan's Institute of Science Tokyo has opened the world's first fully automated medicine laboratory at its Yushima campus, staffed entirely by 10 humanoid robots including the Maholo LabDroid. The lab performs cell culture, reagent transfer, and other tasks without human researchers, operating 24/7. Plans aim to expand to 2,000 robots by 2040, accelerating drug discovery and reducing errors through automation.
