Indian Navy Enhances Secure Communication with GSAT-7R Satellite Terminals

The Indian Navy is strengthening its secure maritime communication by developing indigenous satellite terminals called Rukmini, compatible with the new GSAT-7R satellite. These ship-based C-band and Ku-band terminals will enhance communication capabilities across ships, submarines, aircraft, and maritime operation centers. GSAT-7R, launched on November 2, 2025, is India's heaviest communication satellite, covering about 3,500 km over the Indian Ocean region, reducing dependence on Israel.
