The proposed Vande Bharat Sleeper Express between New Delhi and Varanasi has received approval from the Railway Board. The train is expected to be inaugurated on October 12, possibly flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will depart Varanasi at 8:40 PM, stop at Prayagraj and Kanpur Central, and reach New Delhi by 4:50 AM, completing the journey in about 8 hours and 10 minutes.
