BusinessIndian IT Firms Cut H-1B Visa Use Amid US Policy Changes
Major Indian IT companies like Infosys, TCS, HCL America, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro have sharply reduced their H-1B visa registrations in the US during Financial Year 2027. Infosys registrations dropped from 8,886 to 759, and TCS from 5,955 to 284. These declines follow US policy changes under the Trump administration, including a $100,000 fee on certain H-1B petitions to protect American jobs, extended through 2027 despite legal challenges.
