ScienceIndia Semiconductor Mission 2.0 Sparks Growth of 200 Chip Design Companies
Under India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, at least 200 chip design companies have emerged, boosting India's semiconductor IP development. Over 105 startups accessed advanced EDA tools, with 20 securing venture capital. Four years into the initiative, 70,000 engineers have been trained, nearing the target of 85,000. Five of 12 approved plants are operational, and India is gaining international interest through events like SEMICON India 2026 and bilateral roundtables with Singapore, Europe, and South Korea, emphasizing global partnerships and domestic strengths.
