BusinessIEX Subsidiary Applies for Coal Trading Licence with CCO
Indian Energy Exchange's wholly owned subsidiary, Indian Coal Exchange Limited, has applied for a licence with the Coal Controller Organisation to establish a coal trading exchange. Incorporated on June 1 with ₹100 crore authorised capital, the exchange will enable physical delivery-based coal trades, facilitating price discovery and market access under the Coal Exchange Rules, 2026. This marks IEX's entry into the coal market, expanding its energy trading portfolio.
