Hackers Raise Temperatures in French Supermarket Fridges Causing Fires

Hackers increased the temperature of refrigerators and freezers to 50°C overnight at hundreds of French supermarkets, causing fires and food spoilage. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed a large-scale cyberattack affecting major food retailers across France. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has ordered the National Cybersecurity Agency to investigate. Other European countries including Spain, Portugal, Poland, Germany, and Belgium were also affected.
