Gold Smuggled from Bangladesh Seized Near Vijayawada, Five Arrested

On October 18, 2026, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence intercepted a Hyderabad-bound bus and a car near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, busting an interstate gold smuggling operation. Five people were arrested for transporting 3.1 kg of gold and foreign currency valued at ₹5.84 crore. The smuggled gold originated from Bangladesh and was routed through Kolkata to Hyderabad.

Delhi Imposes GRAP-1 Pollution Controls Including Vehicle and Fuel Bans

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has activated Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for Delhi and the National Capital Region due to poor air quality with an AQI of 244.
