Delhi Imposes GRAP-1 Pollution Controls Including Vehicle and Fuel Bans

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has activated Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for Delhi and the National Capital Region due to poor air quality with an AQI of 244. Under GRAP-1, diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are banned. Use of coal and wood fuel is prohibited in roadside eateries and commercial kitchens. Mechanised street sweeping will also be conducted regularly.
